Welcome to the First Grade!!

This year will be an extra special year for these first graders. They will be taught by two teachers this year. Due to me having a baby I will not be starting the school year. I will stop by to see everyone some time when school starts....and to introduce my little Laken. I look forward to seeing everyone when I get back to school. If their are any questions you may call the office.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 9th IS A COME AND GO DAY FOR 1ST GRADE. YOU MAY STOP BY AND DROP OFF YOUR CHILD'S SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND GET SOME IMPORTANT PAPERS. IT IS NOT A SCHOOL DAY. FIRST FULL DAY OF SCHOOL IS MONDAY, AUGUST 12th.

About Mrs. Blackwell

This is my 6th year at PLA and I am excited to begin the 2013-2014 school year. I am from Montgomery, AL where I went to Jeff Davis High School and then came to Troy. I am a graduate of Troy University (GO TROJANS) where I got a degree in elementary education.(I also am a bigtime Auburn football fan!) I have a younger brother who went to Macon-East in Montgomery (I know...big PLA rival.) I was married to Josh Blackwell on December 12, 2009. He works in Montgomery at a medical drug distribution warehouse and as a football/baseballl coach at Macon East (I know...I know...). I had a little girl on July 6th, 2013. Her name is Laken Gray Blackwell. She was born a little early but is super duper healthy. She was born 5 1/2 weeks early and weighed 5 pounds and 12 ounces. She was 20 1/4 inches long. I am so in love with this little angel. I am so excited to begin this 2013-2014 school year. I know this will be a great year with this group of great kids.
