Comprehension Stories
We have begun reading short stories and answering the questions to them on paper. They will be for a grade eventually. Each child will be required to copy the question and then answer in a complete sentence. They will be allowed to use their book to answer the questions, but they will be required to read the whole book on their own. This will work on their comprehension skills as well as their reading skills.
We read a story together and answered the questions together. I "graded" their papers afterwards. It will not be for an actual grade. It will be sent home in their graded papers folder on Friday. We will read another story on Thursday and they will answer questions. It will be another practice. Next week we will start reading and answering for a grade.

Grandparents' Day
We will be having Grandparents' Day on September 27. I sent home lines for your child to memorize. They will all be a part of a poem to their Grandparents. Please help your child study these lines so we can begin practicing together next week.
