Red Ribbon Week
Today starts Red Ribbon Week. Tomorrow will be War on Drugs day and the kids can wear camo in honor of it.
Next week on Wednesday the kids should wear red to school. We will be doing other Drug Free activities throughout this week and next week here at school.

Veterans Day Breakfast
The SGA will be hosting a breakfast in honor of veterans everywhere. If you have a veteran in your family or in your community who would like to come please let me know and we will get an invitation to you to give to the veteran. The Veterans' breakfast will be on November 8 and a program by the 5th and 6th graders will follow.
If you would like to prepare a breakfast item to help the SGA please let Mrs. Baggett know.

About Mrs. Blackwell

This is my 6th year at PLA and I am excited to begin the 2013-2014 school year. I am from Montgomery, AL where I went to Jeff Davis High School and then came to Troy. I am a graduate of Troy University (GO TROJANS) where I got a degree in elementary education.(I also am a bigtime Auburn football fan!) I have a younger brother who went to Macon-East in Montgomery (I know...big PLA rival.) I was married to Josh Blackwell on December 12, 2009. He works in Montgomery at a medical drug distribution warehouse and as a football/baseballl coach at Macon East (I know...I know...). I had a little girl on July 6th, 2013. Her name is Laken Gray Blackwell. She was born a little early but is super duper healthy. She was born 5 1/2 weeks early and weighed 5 pounds and 12 ounces. She was 20 1/4 inches long. I am so in love with this little angel. I am so excited to begin this 2013-2014 school year. I know this will be a great year with this group of great kids.
